An adorable crossbody bag for Sanrio's 50th Aniversery
1.Sanrio: Yes, the Japan based company that brought us Little Twin Stars, My Melody, and of course Hello Kitty is a perfect place to start when looking for things like cute purses and acsessories, with prices well below those of popular Lolita brands. They have many store locations throughout the U.S. and you can also order goods online from their website http://www.sanrio.com/
2.Shop Vintage: If you are willing to spend some time digging through the racks at vintage and resale shops, a number of tresures are sure to be found. These shops are especially good for things like bloomers, tiny hats, and petticoats. I found a pair of darling pink bloomers at a local consignment shop that have become a staple of my lolita wardrobe.
3.When in Doubt, DIY: Anything you can't (or don't have the money) to buy, can usally be fabricated at home with supplies from the craft store and a can-do attitude. Here is a quick project you can do to make very cute decololi hairclips
You will need:
- 1-2 pieces doll sized plastic cake or cake decoden(the kind that would fit on Barbie's kitchen table)
- Super Glue
- Aproximetly 4 1/2cm plastic pearls in your favorite color
- 1 clasping barette back (found in the jewelry isle of craft stores)
- Lace trim the lenght and width of the clasping barette(you can cut bigger lace to fit the barette)
Steps
- Super glue the lace to the clasping barette back and let it dry for at least ten minutes.
- Super glue the plastic cake to the midde of the barette back, then glue two plastic pearls to the barette on either side of the cake.
- Let this dry for ten more minutes.
- Wear! You can make as many of these as you want, and you will have a head full of adorable hair barettes! Try switching out the plastic cake for cute beads or anything else you can think of.
